Beroun
The royal town of Beroun was built at the Mže river ford (renamed Berounka in 19<sup>th</sup> century) in the middle Ages. Traces of the past can be seen at every step. Some are hidden deep under the surface. According to the legend, the town was founded and named after Slavoš, husband of the mythical princess Teta and a brother in law of the famous princess Libuše. You can visit the historical sights, museum and galleries.

Městská hora (mount) – Bear Reserve
A bear is one of the symbols of the Beroun and since 2000 the bear reserve has been inhabited by three bears from a popular TV series. The bears brothers called Vojta, Kuba and Matěj were born on 13 January 2000. Their mother refused to nurse them. They were adopted by a bear leader and then by film director Václav Chaloupek, who made a popular TV series called Méďové with them. In September 2000 they moved to a newly built reserve in Beroun.


Tetín
Slavic fortified settlement, a memorable place of Czech history, a place of residence of St. Wenceslas and the site of the murder of St. Ludmila.
Karlštejn
Karlštejn Castle was founded in 1348 by the Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor as his private residence and a place of safekeeping royal treasures, especially his collections of holy relics and the Imperial Crown Jewels. In 1355 Charles IV stayed here for the first time, overseeing the construction and decoration work, especially in chapels. The construction was completed in 1365 when the Chapel of the Holy Cross in the Great Tower was consecrated.

Žebrák
This castle is possibly the oldest aristocratic castle with two circular towers. After the reconstruction organized by Wenceslas IV (1361–1419) it became one of the most beautiful residences in the country. Today, Žebrák is the older and lower castle of the Czech largest castle system.
Točník
Točník is transitional castle, which with its targeted residential concept differences itself from the medieval defense systems. It was built by the Czech king Wenceslas IV at the turn of the 15th century.
